Notes for owners
Extremely loyal to its family
Smooth, short haired Minimal Needs a strong “alpha” owner and early socialization

An extremely strong, muscular, stocky, and agile dog with a continual desire to please.  The breed shares a poor reputation for aggressiveness that can be more attributed to its owners and its socialization.  They are usually not people-aggressive but have natural aggressive tendencies toward other dogs and animals.  This tendancy can be controlled if they are properly socialized (easier if done from puppy hood).  It’s an  amusing, extremely loyal and affectionate family pet, which is good with children and adults, but is highly protective of his owners and the owner’s property.  It can be willful and needs a firm and consistency hand.  While, for the most part they are very friendly, but not recommended for most people as they are very strong and fast who may see unexpected activity as a threat (any potential owner must research this breed and make sure it is the right dog for the person’s (families) lifestyle).  Its is excellent with children in the family but should not be left alone with unfamiliar children. They require a very thorough socialization when young to combat aggressive tendencies.  Must be under firm control when other dogs are present. When properly trained and socialized it is a very good dog and a great family companion. Unfortunately, some choose to promote the fighting instinct in the breed, giving it a bad name.
