The Australian Terrier is great for apartments as long as it gets a nice daily walk. It is an active dog, indoors and out, so be prepared for FRAPS (Frequent Random Activity Periods), especially from younger dogs. They interact well with children but do not like to be teased. Children should be advised that aggressive behavior toward the dog is not allowed. They may not do well with cats or other small pets, and a male to male canine relationship may not work. Early and consistent training and handling will help control this very self-confident and intelligent dog. It's a good traveler, but can be fond of barking. Their coat will need brushing several times during the week.
