The Bergamasco is a highly intelligent breed combining its desire to please with the ability to think for itself. Bergamascos are always on alert, never aggressive toward people unless provoked or threatened. It is very intelligent and balanced and a peaceful dog. They participate in everything that goes on around them. An excellent watch dog that doesn't like strangers invading its home. It loves children and makes an excellent Nanny. It behaves in a slightly different manner towards each family member, adapting to their personal temperaments and acting accordingly. Bergamascos are usually good with other dogs or cats.

Do your own check of each breeder or rescue -- be sure that you are comfortable with the organization before you buy, adopt or turn-over a dog.
We STRONGLY recommend that you get your dog from a respectable breeder or rescue organization. Pet store puppies may get their dogs from Puppy Mills that normally breed only for profit, not quality or concern for the puppy or its eventual owner.
