The Boerboel is a dominent breed and needs an owner who are well versed in handling large breed dogs. It is an obedient dog with guard dog instincts; loyal and loving of their masters. The Boerboel is good with children they know and accept strangers to their home once the owner has indicated they are welcome. Still they will keep watch. This breed needs plenty of training and socialization.They may take a protective approach to people passing on the street. They do well with other animals. They love to be with their owner, and enjoy playing with lots of attention.

We STRONGLY recommend that you get your dog from a respectable breeder or rescue organization. Pet store puppies may get their dogs from Puppy Mills that normally breed only for profit, not quality or concern for the puppy or its eventual owner.
