The Dandie Dinmont is an affectionate and faithful companion, small in stature but big in spirit. A great apartment dog, and very suitable for the less active. Good with children if raised with them from a puppy. The same applies to other household pets. Suspicious of strangers, and protective of its family. Males may be aggressive to other males. Needs regular brushing (several times a week).
