Kennel listings or ads on any web site can never be proof-positive of the kennel's reliability or responsibleness. This especially includes generic "puppy" ads that may appear on the Internet It is STRONGLY recommended that you thoroughly investigate such sites prior to buying especially if they cannot be linked back to a legitimate breeder.
PGAA does not endorse the Internet sale of puppies or dogs and the kennels listed in this section are only listed to identify breeder sources in your general location. Always visit the kennel before buying

It is PGAA's intention to ask the public to stop buying pets from pet stores and boycott puppy mills so we need to supply the public with another means to purchase their pets. We believe that by offering visibility to reputable breeders, listed by breed and state, we can help steer more people to breeders and away from pet stores and puppy mills. This, in turn, will help reduce the number of dogs entering the rescue and adoption networks.

The need for visibility to reputable breeders is reinforced by the article Putting the Large Scale Breeding Operations Out of Business appearing in the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue's "Golden Opportunities" newsletter and reprinted with permission by Robin L. We HAVE NOT physically visited these kennels, and this is not a recommendation for any breeder/kennel on our list.

It is impossible to physically verify, and continue to verify, all kennels listed. This list is an attempt to introduce the public to the availability of dogs other than from pet shops or other mass-breeding programs, and to provide contact information enabling the customer to arrange for a kennel visit. This is not an endorsement of the Internet sale of pets!! This is only an electronic list of breeders who may be in your area. Only by a personal visit to a breeder can you determine if the breeder's program is reliable and that the breeder's first concern is the wellbeing of the puppy.

We STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you read the Evaluating a Breeder article for ways to evaluate a breeder, and e-mail the appropriate Breed Club for their opinion/recommendation.
