Dog holidays 2017 in the United States usually means two things. It means vacations taken ‘with the family pet. Or it means special days, or dog holidays, that we can celebrate with our dog. This calls into mind dog-friendly lodging, dog parks, and/or dog-friendly amusement places.

Unfortunately, many dog holidays sneak up on us. We remember tomorrow that two days ago was the day to dress our dogs up and enter a parade… which we forgot about. Our phone begins to ring. “Where were you? We thought something happened!”

Well, something did happen. I lost my mind for the fourth year in a row along with every birthday in the family. I seriously thought about buying cards in bulk and mailing them all out on January 1st. THERE!! Nobody can say I forgot about them this year, by gosh… but I did not. My brand new Cortana personal computer assistant now takes care of all the birthdays and dog holidays – and me. Pet Minder is also a good reminder for anything dog related.

Below we have listed various U.S. annual dog holidays to be celebrated by dog owners and dog lovers. We have listed dog holidays for the AVMA health organization and for veterinarians. We have also used ideas from all areas.
