Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Soft Coated Wheatens from Cole’s Kennel
The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier is a puppy for life. They have the terrier instincts and need to be trained and handled in a firm and consistent manner. The Wheaten is a loyal family dog that gets along well with children and other pets (be careful around cats until accepted!). Sudden movements result in instinctual behavior. Be careful with male to male dog meetings. Socialization as a puppy goes a long way in defining a good attitude for the Wheaten. A good watch dog. The Wheaten is OK for apartments but needs a moderate exercise routine. It does not like heat extremes. Work the coat with a comb instead of a brush. Read PGAA’s Hypoallergenic Dogs article.
