Photos from Viking Dogs
The Swedish Valihund is a small, hardy and fearless herder and farm dog that is family friendly and. when socialized, good with other pets and children. It is an alert dog and eager to please, and is neither vicious or shy. It is a calm dog tht adapts well to its surroundings. Other profiles indicate they can be barkers yet some owners report no barking other than what other dogs would do (cats, squirrels, mailmen, etc) They love exercise and will do well with owners that are hikers and walkers. They can be clowns and fun to be around – some have been known to jump vertically.

We STRONGLY recommend that you get your dog from a respectable breeder or rescue organization. Pet stores and Internet sellers may get their dogs from Puppy Mills that normally breed only for profit, not quality or concern for the puppy or its eventual owner.
If you would like help locating a breeder or rescue agency near you please E-Mail PGAA ( ita408@comcast.net), and let us know your city/state and the type of dog you are looking for. Do not assume that PGAA has qualified all of the breeders or rescues on this site. Do your own check of each breeder or rescue — be sure that you are comfortable with the organization before you buy, adopt or turn-over a dog.
